As of 5:04 p.m. today (8/7/10), we will have enjoyed Madeline Hope in our family for 2 years! I was perusing some pictures from her birth-day, baby-hood, and toddler-hood...and thought I'd share. :)
Miss Madeline made Nana (my Mom) so happy by being a week late, because they get to share a birthday! Like all my children, we were awakened in the middle of the night with the knowledge that we would be welcoming another little one soon. Soon, at least for my non-C-section babes, was relative...more like 18 hours later. :) Madeline was worth every long hour of labor and I certainly didn't know what I was missing with two boys. She has been the opposite of my boys in most ways, although she can stand her ground, when she needs to. She has a quiet, high voice, likes to sing and has really started talking. She loves to read books, loves to help me, and loves babies--pretend ones, for now.

She went out for breakfast with her Daddy this morning. Justin has been taking each of the kids out individually for b-fast on Saturday mornings, and today happened to be her turn. She got all dressed up w/ her fancy wedding shoes and even some perfume. When I wasn't watching, she somehow got the top off the perfume bottle and spilled it all over herself, getting it into her eyes. Despite that, she and her Daddy had a great time. :) Justin said they chatted a bit and she ate all of her pancake.

Two Year Old Pictures coming soon, thanks to Auntie T! I just got a preview, and they're super-cute. Hope to post them soon!
~We are thankful to God for each birthday we get to celebrate with each of our children. I want to savor every moment, because I cannot believe how fast 2 years have gone! Here is the verse that inspired her middle name:
"This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord." Lam. 3
~Thankful for the little girl God has given us to raise and especially thankful for the Lord's mercies on this journey of parenting~
