2 weekends ago...

Once again, I started this post more than a week ago. 2 weekends ago, was the Father/Son Camp. I mainly stayed home with the kids, but did venture out a few evenings to hear the speaker. The girls and I played on Sunday morning, and I actually was able to sit through all the ministry--that hasn't happened, in who-knows-how long! It was excellent! Krista and George came down on Friday and stayed through Sunday. Krista and Grace stayed at my house, and we had a GREAT time! Me and my sis, stayed up till 1 and 2 in the morning, chit-chatting. We called it therapy...since we never really solved the issues we were talking about--it was just nice to know we deal w/ similiar issues as wives and moms. We were thinking of how to help our girls be prepared for motherhood. We were talking about all the things no one ever told us about being moms. Finally at 2 am., we decided that it's just one of those experiences you have to go through yourself...there's really no way to completely prepare for the physical and emotional demands and huge responsibility of having a child/children. Hee...did make for a fun talk, though. :) Funny thing is, we both thought we were prepared for being moms--afterall, we came from a big family and had "experience" w/ babies. Plus, Krista worked for 2 years in the NICU at a hospital. Boy, were we wrong! Amazing how having your own baby is TOTALLY different from a sibling, or someone else's baby. Wonderful in every way, but extremely demanding and forced deliverance (in lots of ways) from self-focus. Mommy and Madeline--making a funny face!

Krista & the Kiddos--Samuel stayed out at the cabin w/ "The Guys"--William opted to "stay 'ome" (it only took about 8 tries to get this picture w/ everyone looking)
Me and Eva (Biggest and Littlest Sister) right after her accident This picture cracks me up--what is Max doing? Making tea looks pretty serious. :)
Justin promised the boys a ride on the lake w/ the canoes. He was busy during the F/S Camp weekend, so he wanted to do something special w/ the boys.

George and Krista went on the canoe trip too! (We left sleeping Grace and Madeline at G-ma Bobbie's house)
All of us...
Brothers, F/S, or Nephew & Uncle--the look-alikes!

William, super-excited!
