Eva is Out of Surgery

Report from Krista:
Eva just came out of surgery at Children's Memorial Hospital. She's in recovery w/ my Mom and Grandma Nett. Krista and Therese are in the waiting room. She went in around 12:30 p.m. and just came out. (2:30 pm) The Dr. did not operate on her eye, because it's too swollen. They will have to come back next week, for an operation.

The Dr. did check everything, and she has a plan for how to repair Eva's eye. The lens behind the iris and pupil is shattered. (The Dr. compared it to shattered glass) From the impact of the b.b., a cataract has formed. So, she will remove the cataract and replace Eva's lens with a plastic one. (kinda smiliar to my G-ma Bobbie's cataract surgery) The iris is ruptured, so they will repair that. This Dr. couldn't see Eva's retina, but the Retina Specialist in Champaign examined it on Friday night, and according to that Dr. the retina was intact. As long as the retina is not damaged, after the Dr. fixes the cataract, repairs the iris, and replaces the lens, Eva should be able to see again.

Thank you to everyone who has and is praying for Eva and my parents. The Lord is faithful.

Love,

Meg

Absolutely! I have been reading your parent's blog and keeping up with Eva's recovery. We have kept your entire family, Eva, and Issac in our prayers. I know I keep saying that even though we don't know each other, it is still our honor to serve God together. Our family will keep praying for all of you. May all of you feel His peace and love in your lives.
